Dear Parents of Trivium East Scholars,
It has been a busy and wonderful last few weeks for music events at Trivium East! From each grade level, K-5, our scholars sang so beautifully for our winter concerts. We are grateful for your support of and participation with our winter concerts- it is a true highlight for our musical development. This past week, concerts continued as Paradise Winds, a professional reed quintet, visited our school. We also had three club performances that highlighted the musical talents and efforts of our young scholars. Ukulele Club presented a concert with highlights including Shenandoah, Peace Like a River, and Loch Lamond. Our Drama Club Grades 3-5 worked tirelessly this semester to present our very own interpretation of Snowdrop, which is the Brothers Grimm story for Snow White. A big congratulations to the scholars in drama club and set design for truly owning this show and for your extra rehearsals and extra time. The performance was beautiful. To close out the week last week, our Drama Club Grades K-2 presented a singing version of The Musicians of Bremen. The joy and excitement of these young scholars was infectious as we presented our first ever entirely K-2 Drama production. Singing... Music... Acting... these mediums of expression are wonderful ways to explore the depths of emotion, expression, and humanity. It can be hard work at times- for both students and teachers. In the end, I believe it changes us for the better and I am already looking forward to our spring semester concert preparation and club performances. I've received a few questions about when signups will be available for the spring semester clubs which start in January. When we get back from break, check the Athenian Echo, and also emails from me, as both sources will announce when these open. Thank you, and have a wonderful break. Ms. Sassaman |
