Dear Parents of Trivium East Scholars,
It has been such a joy to welcome back our scholars this week. We have a fun and engaging year ahead of us in music class! We will be singing, moving, creating, and playing instruments as we form musical communities both as classes and as an entire school. We will have more guest performances this year- one concert in the fall semester, and one concert in the spring semester- our 4th graders will be visiting the Musical Instrument Museum this year, and we will have more wonderful music clubs. Stay tuned for more details about each of these events! Fall Semester Clubs: registration for fall semester clubs is now open! We have many wonderful clubs to offer this year, including some of our favorite music and drama clubs. This year, Mr. LaFave will be teaching ukulele club for grades 2-5 and Mrs. MacLeod will be teaching drama for grades 3-5. I will be starting a new percussion club for grades 3-5 called Ictus! Ictus is a Latin word for beat that is sometimes used in music. We will play xylophones, glockenspiels, and conga drums, sing, and move during this club. We will share our music in a final performance in December. Here is a link for club sign up. https://archwaytriviumeast.configio.com I look forward to much music making with our scholars this year. Sincerely, Ms. Sassaman Music Teacher, Grades 2-5, Archway Trivium East |
